Sunday walk

Grandma and Grandpa came to visist us for the weekend. We had such a good time with them and we wished that they could have stayed longer.
One of the highlights was taking a Sunday walk together.

It was great to be together as a family and enjoying the beauty of the earth.

Things that are blooming

Even though my pea plants are gone, there are a few things in my yard that are going right.
My roses and my Salvia.
My roses are just beginning to bloom. Rose #1. If any of you know how I should prune them, please let me know.

And the wall came down.

I decided after much inward turmoil to open up our house a little by knocking down our half-wall. I was afraid that I would regret taking it down, but I can happily say that our house looks better without the wall.
Being the great DG (Domestic Goddess in case you forgot), I remembered to take pictures of the wall's demise.Manly man's friend Doug using he's kung-fu power (He actually did knock it down using his hand.) and Manly man....using a saw (which of course did cut the wood).

Now the little ones that live in our MO (mount Olympus) have room to make larger messes.

I hate it when I find art all over my walls and doors.

OK it wasn't too bad because it was chalk.

I hate it when I go outside to water my garden and find that ALL 24 Pea plants are GONE!!

I hate it when my house smells off and I can't find the reason why until I find this.

NJ turns 6

My oldest NJ turned 6 on May 19Th. She had a great birthday because she got to have THREE cakes. She took 1/2 of a brownie mix to school the other 1/2 I kept at home so that we could eat it that night with her birthday meal (mac and cheese). Then the following Saturday, she had a get together with a few school friends at the park.

Hum... maybe we should switch that so that we can complain about it like the kid on The Polar Express.

This is the half eaten horse cake that I made. Of course I didn't remember to take a picture until it was almost gone. OH! the woes of motherhood. It was just a 9x13 cake with two cuts. I love what you can find on the web. I mean, I CAME UP WITH THE IDEA ALL BY MYSELF!

Can you believe that I have a 6 year old? Don't answer that question unless it is "no" or something close to that.
