Get off the platform already!

It has been over a year since I last wrote.

I don't know why I haven't written. Lots has happened; good things, happy moments, struggles that I have overcome and times when I have cried. But why haven't I written?
I don't know why. I think that I have been waiting for something- something extraordinary or awe inspiring and I  keep waiting and waiting.

I have been standing on the wooden platform waiting for the train of life to come speeding up and wash me with a dragon's breath of steam. And at that moment when everything is misty, I will have a moment of clarity and a new adventure will start. But as I wait and wait I am missing THIS adventure.

Life may not be the black polished steam locomotive that I have dreamed of, but there is nothing wrong with a train full of character.

Simply put I'm getting off this stilted platform and writing again.

No Kiss

I sent Jim to work with only a nice pat on the arm- no kiss, just a "what a good husband" pat.

The children try really hard not to wake me up in the night when they need something. They are old enough to understand that if mommy does not get enough sleep, they will only have oatmeal for breakfast.

Last night Hannah came into our room and went to wake up Jim. Jim is not as easy to wake up as Mommy, so it took a lot more coaxing to make him coherent. I believe that Hannah meant to pat him on the cheek to alert him to her presence but instead put one or maybe two fingers in his mouth.

"Daddy."
"Ugg."
"Daddy!"
"Ugggggg."
"Daddy I'm sick."
"Hannah?"
"Daddy I'm sick and have diarrhea'as."
"What?! Ah! Did you wash your hands?"

..."No."

Idaho Falls Symphony

The Idaho Falls Symphony has a concert tomorrow. If you go to their web page you can find me!
How exciting right?
Look under the heading about us and click on meet the musicians.
You will see my name under the viola section.

They did take a picture of me, but that was at the first concert I played in and they must have wondered, "Who in the name of Mike is this hot red head?"
OR
I looked completely wrecked and they thought it best to have it redone.

I'm crossing my fingers for the former

Update

I am so far behind on my blogging. I blame it on the fact that I haven't found the camera cord.
It is snowing today; some serious chockablock flakes are falling. My job is to have some toast and hot chocolate ready when they are done building their snowman.
