It has been over a year since I have put up a post and I thought I should do something about it. I look at others blogs and say, "Hey! Why hasn't so and so posted lately."
I don't have much to say right now but I felt that I needed to put something up or my name will get lost in the side bar.

I've been playing in the Edgewood Symphony and during the summer I do not have a reason to make myself practice, but this last month I have been doing really well. Angela, I've been working on my Passacaglia. Everything but two sections I can play. I will be ready at Christmas! Be prepared for awesomeness.

There is a lot to write up like trips and different activities the kids are involved in and I need to put up pictures of the store. There are some great things to come. For now I have a few cute stories.

First let me set the mood. The girls had already watched the movie Princess Bride. They then spent the next two weeks quoting lines from it. Andrew was feeling bad about not knowing what the quotes were about. So the next time we had a family party we watched the Princess Bride.

Our kids get scared really easily and Hannah was helping to preparing Andrew for the RUS’s. When the first RUS showed up Hannah told Andrew that there was a man inside. Meaning that it was a man inside a costume. Andrew gasped.

“They eat people?”

This morning each kid took a turn spilling their cold cereal. And each seemed to not notice that they had spilled.   Seriously all three?

“Natalie you spilled your cereal on the table.” Natalie replies. “Oh I’m sorry I’m just in a hurry.”

 “Andrew you’ve spilled you cereal next to you elbow.” Andrew, “?.” Then he quickly licked up the spilled cereal.

“Hannah you have spilled your cereal and some of it has fallen onto the chair!” Hannah, “Your welcome.”

I had picked up Jim from work and I was telling Jim how wild and difficult Andrew had been. The conversation went something like this...

Jim:  Andrew were you being difficult for your mother?

Andrew:  ……

Jim:  Did you hear what I said?

Andrew:  ….

Andrew: I’m thinking about doing the dishes.

The electrical fence

I just had to write a quick little post about something that happened yesterday. Funny how I haven't posted about birthdays or the wonderful things the kids have done in school... maybe it just seemed like work?

Anyways, we took a walk around around the Hartwood mansion and stopped to walk through the flower garden. It was surrounded by an electric fence to keep out the deer. In this part of Pennsylvania the deer are like hug rodents that eat everything. In my opinion there needs to be a little more hunting, but I've regressed. 

Andrew really, REALLY wanted to touch the electrical fence. He wanted to know what it felt like. I tried to tell him what it felt like, but it is hard to describe. He asked it it hurt. "No not really. " I told him. "It doesn't hurt like a shot, but it is uncomfortable like how it feels just after the needle is in your skin."

He still wanted to touch it. 

So I let him.

Then Natalie wanted to touch it. "Fine. Any one who wants to can touch the electrical fence."

 They didn't enjoy it except for Hannah who couldn't feel it. Then she did and laughed. "It feels like a tickle" she laughed and kept her hand on it as she walked down the flower bed road. Hannah has always had a high tolerance for pain. At least Jim and I have always thought so, but now we have proof of that or Hannah has a serious issue of being the bravest.

Whatever is the reason why, we all think Hannah is seriously awesome!

Thankful, but glad it's over

PA has brought me a lot of new experiences. I've been on TV, played with the Pittsburgh heritage society where they had me dress up in costume and play baroque style of music. I also got the chance to play a solo in front of hundreds of people. I played a musical number with my Mother In Law in stake conference. I was so nervous, but I was able to control my nerves much better than I thought I would. With the changing of my medication, I have not been my usual self and I was afraid that I just wouldn't be able to play. It makes me so mad when my bow "bounces" because I am shaking so hard! I was so thankful that this didn't happen. My knees were trembling and my hands were shaking, but my bow did not bounce and as I played my trembling slowed down and I was able to play stronger.By the end of the song I felt like I was in control of myself and able to express my testimony through the music. Which was all I wanted to do. But I am glad that it is over and hopefully I will not have to play a solo again for a long time.

Now that I'm famous...

Last week on Farm Kings the episode with me in it aired ("Big losses, Bigger Gains"). Yeah Baby!
They even took a close up of me.

The next step for me is:
1. Change my voice mail message (use low sexy voice)
2. Measure my hair in case of shampoo commercial personal call
3. Work out for real
4. Buy skinny jeans and high-heeled boots
5. Work on signing my name with a flourish (which was one of Natalie's spelling words this week, so it must be a sign)
6. Shave legs and grow three more inches.
